Anders Söderberg c. 1833

Anders Söderberg was a piano maker in Stockholm, initially working with Willgren, and established independently from 1831 until 1850.  Three other instruments by him are known, two of them in museums in Sweden.  This handsome example is generously being offered Free to Good Home.

The compass is the usual six octaves FF - f4, and the action is typical for continental pianos of that time.  It seems to be all there, including the pedal, but it does need some attention.

The figuring of the mahogany case is exceptionally beautiful.

The numbers of the other three Söderbergs are 281, 376, and 565, so we might guess the date of this one as about 1833. As it is being offered as an unconditional gift, ivory registration is not necessary.  The piano is in a ground floor location in London  N6.
