'Italian' Harpsichord by William Post Ross, Boston (USA) 1972

This harpsichord is in the Italian style, with a usefully extended compass FF - g'''.  It is of true inner/outer construction, with a delicate instrument protected by a separate outer case.

There are two registers at 8' pitch tuned to A=415.  The jacks are plastic, with Delrin plectra.

The generous length of the case (8' 8"  - 270 cm)  allows a good string length for the lowest notes.

This harpsichord is near Colchester; the price is £6,000.
