Harpsichord by John Storrs 1984

John Storrs was a leader in employing innovative techniques to ensure the accuracy of his drilling, registers, and joints in his kits, and they are fine instruments when well built.

We present a double manual harpsichord after Ruckers.  Built from a John Storrs kit in 1984. Compass GG to e3. Two 8’ registers and one 4’.

Ebony naturals and bone sharps.

Cream paintwork with smoky blue border and green line. Water gilt mouldings and rings on stand.  The actual colour of the borders is rather 'softer' than the images suggest.

Tuned to 415HZ

Original strings as supplied by J S.

Four spare jacks and two spare arcades from front of keyboard. Original key and instruction booklets.

Decorated with JS papers.

The usual very fine hairline crack in soundboard in the treble, which does not affect the tone.

The harpsichord is in the London area; the price is £6,500.
