Tomkison c.1823 Free to Good Home

The number of the piano is 7011 indicating a date of 1823.  Good to see that the pedal leg is present, although the actual foot piece may be missing.

Handsome brass inlay on the rosewood nameboard - 'Maker to His Majesty'  (George IV).  Thomas Tomkison had made pianos specially for him, notably for the Brighton Pavilion when he was Prince of Wales.

It has nearly a full set of strings, even if the schedule is not quite correct.

Most of the notes are stated to work, but about four do not.  Stated that some hammers could be missing, but several are loose.

Condition of Soundboard and bridges looks good.

Happily, this piano has now found a good home, where it will be carefully restored.
