Broadwood c. 1820

This Broadwood, number 26254, was formerly in the collection of Richard Burnett at Finchcocks, sold in the 2016 auction.  It is now offered for sale; the owner assures us that it in excellent playing condition.

Good to see the green shade still present - these are so often lost, but they do have an important acoustic function.

Elegant 'fiddle back' sycamore nameboard.  Soon after this the fashion changed to the more sombre dark rosewood.

5½-octave compass; beautiful ivory keys.

The soundboard and bridge look good.  This  piano has evidently been carefully restored.

We note that it is one of those from around 1820 where the wrestpins for the treble section were moved to the right-hand end to avoid crowding on the wrestplank.

In compliance with the UK Ivory Act 2018, this piano has been registered for exemption; code TCNFUV6E.  It is in London NW;

The price is £1,800.
