Goble 1991 after Dulcken 1745

This beautiful harpsichord was made by Andrea Goble of Oxford in 1991, after the 1745 Dulcken original in the Smithsonian Institute.  

The compass is FF - g3, currently at A440, but transposable to A415.  The handstops control the disposition olf 2 x 8' + 4', lute to upper register and buff.  Shove coupler.  The music desk is removeable

The instrument is finished in green with gold banding; it sits on a baluster-style stand, which can be dismantled for transport. 

Length 261 cm, width 97 cm.

Swainson wooden jacks with Delrin plectra; 5 mm tuning pins with square heads.  Strings 24 x steel, 78 x Malcolm Rose Iron A, 28 x brass. 

The natural keys are ebony; the sharp tops have been examined by an expert and are definitely not ivory.  

It was fully serviced at the time of purchase by the current owner, and annually maintained by Douglas Hollick since then. It remains in full playing order.

It is offered with a tuning hammer, some spare strings, and a custom-made padded transport cover.  It is in Sheffield; viewing by arrangement.  The price is £15,500.
