David Law - Traditional Brasswork

David Law, the well-known and much respected British maker of brass furniture for traditional and antique keyboard instruments, has not been well for some time, and is considering retirement.  We are delighted to report the leading harpsichord maker Huw Saunders and the film maker Farokh Khorooshi have an active plan to enable his work to continue.

Tony Holland (ex-Royal Signals Regiment) is to be trained to follow in David's footsteps, and to set up a new workshop.  Suitable premises have been identified at a reasonable rent, but some financial support is needed in these early stages.

The attached PDF gives full details, including a link to the Just Giving page, or directly to the bank account of the new project.  Nearly £2,500 of the £15,000 target has already been donated in the first couple of days.  Please give this project your generous support - we need specialist craftspeople such as these.

The picture below is just one example of David's beautiful work - original and replica hinges for the 1704 Edward Blunt spinet - Identical to those used by Stephen Keene and other early makers.
