Clavichord by Thomas Wess 1969. I know very little about the maker of this instrument but it appears that Thomas Wess was an important figure in the early development and research of clavichord building in the 60s-70’s who trained some of today’s leading builders of historical keyboard instruments. There appears to be a few of his instruments still in existence, most notably in the Univerity of Cambridge collection of instruments. It has recently undergone a full refurbishment and is in excellent playing condition with no warps or cracks to the soundboard. There have been a few repairs to the veneered case but other than that it is in excellent condition. Pitch A=440 (modern pitch) Measurements are approx 61” x 22” at maximum points I am selling many more early keyboard instruments as a result of concert cancellations due to the pandemic so please check my other items that might be of interest [They will appear on this website].
