John Storrs Spinet

The seller writes:

John Storrs spinet, bought in 2012 when it was professionally made from the kit.  Sturdy, easy to tune, easy to transport. It has been used mainly alone or with a small group of recorder players, but it holds its own nicely in a bigger group. I am selling because I have just bought a harpsichord and (sadly) don't have room for both.
It is the Reading area - if you don't live too far away I can bring it to you in return for fuel cost.

The compass is a full five octaves, FF - f3, so the entire repertoire may be played.  It is tuned to A440, but is quite happy at the lower pitch of A415.  It comes complete with a tuning-hammer.

The lid is of frame-and-panel construction for stability; the beautiful hinges are modelled on eighteenth-century originals.  In the old days, when we were allowed to have parties, this spinet came to Chelveston 2020, where Lizzie delighted us with her spirited playing.

The price is £1,800 - very reasonable for such a nice little spinet in full playing order.
