Tomkison 1819 - Free to Good Home

This piano  is one of the last to bear the claim 'Maker to His Royal Highness the Prince Regent - very soon, Thomas Tomkison's royal patron was to be crowned King George IV.

The cross-banded lid does have a water-mark, but this should clean up nicely.

It does need a complete overhaul, but as far as we know all the bits are there, with the exception of the actual foot-piece of the pedal.  The owner assures us that the important leg is present.

The restoration will involve a good deal of work, but fortunately the piano seems to have avoided any unwise interference or damage.

The important soundboard and bridge look good, as do the pins and the nut.

The piano is in Edinburgh, and needs to be moved fairly soon; it is generously bing offered Free to Good Home.  Please contact Eleanor Smith   organology@gmail.com
