Broadwood 1821-Good Home Found

This Broadwood, number 25653, is more handsomely decorated than most, with a panel-style cross-banded veneer finish, and an unusual brass inlay design.

We see from the picture above that the inside is clean and tidy, and shows evidence of restoration at some time in the past.  A few hammers have become detatched, but they are present.  The pedal is also missing, and so far has not been located.

The style of the inscription is unusual, and might have been re-lettered.

This piano quickly found a Good Home, and is assured of a good future as a playing instrument.  As an unconditional gift, it did not need to be registered under the UK Ivory Sales Act - the clue is in the word 'Sales'.  Bequests are similarly exempt.
